Basketball

Travis was a basketball manager for the Utes this season. Tuesday was the last home game. We are both sad and thrilled that the season is ending. Travis made a lot of connections and enjoyed working with the team. I attended every game, except one. While I was in college don't think I even attended one game a year. Next week is the MWC tournament. Due to Travis's hard work, and some special circumstances, the U is paying for us both to attend the tournament in Las Vegas! I am looking forward to an almost free vacation and this is one of Travis's dreams to attend a tournament.

10K

Saturday I ran the second race in the series, a 10K. I got Travis to come and watch. This was my fastest 10K time ever, even with the last mile being up hill. (Everyone was walking during some point on this course.) My goal with all this running is to improve my half marathon time. I still have a month left to train.

snowshoeing

On President's Day Paul, my mom, Travis and I went snowshoeing up Mill Creek Canyon. I was so bummed that I did not bring my camera. It was gorgeous. We got snowshoes from my mom last Christmas and had never used them. This is a winter activity that I might actually enjoy. We went about four miles and on Tuesday I could barely move my legs, my calves were so sore! Paul did awesome, he was jumping everywhere. My mom did great until the desent were she took a couple falls. This is definately something that i would do again.

Running

I signed up for a Winter Racing Circuit so that I can stay in shape this winter. It starts with a 5k and goes through a marathon, but I only plan on staying in it through the half marathon. Yesterday was the first race. It was one of my slowest times in a 5k, but it was a tough course. The first mile and a half was up hill. I ended up coming in in 27 minutes. I was 9th in my age group out of 39 and 201 overall. It was a blast. I have not ran a race in over a year. I forgot how fun it can be.

New name

For some reason the hospital has difficulty changing my email. So I have switched over my last name, expect when people need to email me I still have to use my maiden name. Saturday I went to a conference and I had listed both names as contact information. This is what happened. I'm hyphenated the wrong way. Oh well. I thought it was funny.

Colors

Rachel, your true color is Black!

Travis took the test as well. He sounds so much nicer than I do. I sure married a great guy. This is how he was described.

BYU

This week Katie found out that she was accepted to BYU. I couldn't talk her into living in Helaman Halls. She is trying for Heritage. I can't believe that she is already that old. Now she can make fun memories like I did. Each of you helped shape who I am. Charla, you had the most impact on me and I think you are wonderful. Do you remember when I would roll my eyes when you said something that I considered inappropriate. Now when I talk about something that might be considered gross or perverted Travis looks and me and asks, "Did Charla teach you that". Travis is even more conservative than I am about certain things. I miss you all very much. I can't believe all the different paths we have taken in life. I think about you all often.
